For all of the fellow procrastinators out there, I am sending an emergency beacon.
Here is a quick reminder that the Japanese Language Profiency Test registration closes on September 26th for the test date of December 2nd! Yes, that is more than 2 months notice to register for a test that you may not be thinking about until probably October or November (because you are busy with your studies), when it will be too late. You could break a bone upon registering and then be pretty much healed by the time that you take the test, as doctors typically recommend 6-8 weeks for recovery. Note that this also used to be the expected parcel delivery time for Columbia House CD delivery, when I was in high school, that I have just learned went bankrupt back in 2015.
I have missed maybe 1-2 tests due to this outrageous registration window at this point, resulting in me taking exactly 1 test so far.
Here is the official testing site for registration. Scroll about three quarters down the page to create a test ID and proceed to jump through the various hoops. One of which gave me a good morning chuckle.
On my original registration for the N5 test I was topless except for earphones. Wearing clothes is not in the guideline.
Note that I wasn’t able to upload a photo using Brave and Safari web browsers on the Mac; Firefox did the trick.
